‘A New Beginning’ as Dianne puts it. For me, it’s more to "Boy, did I survive??" The last semester was well spent. And it was all worth it.
The day has come for me to confront one of my greatest fear in life, Dr. Ed.
Dear Marina started teasing me; "Kak riena, kat depan ni banyak lagi kosong…"
I noticed that he’s a bit ‘berisi’, probably he’s just like the rest of us ya? Makan tido makan tido je over the holidays… The moment he walked in my heart was palpitating like crazy. The room was airconditioned alright, but I swear there’s a drop of sweat rolling down at the side of my face! I almost pass out. Surprisingly it went just fine. He pulled a few jokes; probably he sensed some tense reaction among us. I, on the other hand, got no courage or whatsoever to look at him. The voice is enough to send a chill down my spine. Boy, did I survive…
It’s great meeting those familiar faces. Kak Ida has managed to get her ‘mengancam’ figure back. Sion turned up like an actress from Star Trek. She looks cute with that fringe, I must admit.Nora gets her hair done too; Keira Knightley’s style. Anis & Fety still laugh at my silly jokes and we’re still seat-buddies.Fety is all geared-up simply because Italy won the World Cup. Unlike most of us in campus, I’m pretty sure Zidane woke up at the wrong side of bed prior to the final match.(My sympathy goes out to you Zidane, whole-heartedly.) Zaza is more Chinese-sey than she can ever be. I love Hui’s new haircolour. Newlyweds lah katakan, glowing je. And don’t you just love Dr.Jaya and his antics??
Most of my comrades shouldered new bags. There’s a pink one, a peach one, a blue one, ones from converse, from Tropicana… and parades of new shoes as well!! I truly miss these people! Even Puan Jue stylishly carried a brand new ‘Coach’. That’s an inspiration in disguise.
I didn’t turn up in anything brand new. The only thing that’s new would have to be my confidence and resolution. No, not to lose weight but to scrap off the traits of a procrastinator. And trying my very best to overcome the fear of Dr. Ed. That, I need your endless support.
Last Sunday Mr.Mcdreamy and I ‘monorailed’ to Low Yat. He anticipated a massive traffic jam due to the World Cup finals fiesta held at BJT. However the traffic was fine but we didn’t regret that trip afterall. Felt so liberated you know, being able to hug your loved ones closely in public when you’re married! Cool! Mr.McDreamy went crazy at Low Yat he almost purchased something that he might regret. Good thing I talked some sense into him, or else there goes my M.A.C allowance. Huhuhu..
So far I’m handling the beginning quite well. I truly hope it’s a smooth sailing throughout the semester. Yes, there will be overlapping assignments; but I recall a friend told me: "We must be optimistic in everything we do" I guess I’m gonna hold on to that sayings for the meantime. Puan Jue also emphasized something today,"Being alive is in fact all about the survival of the fittest" I think I’m not close to being ‘healthy’, let alone being fit. So I leave that sayings to the participants of ‘Survivor’ or perhaps, ‘America’s Next Top Model’ season 5.
Frankly, my mind is not really set on scoring my papers just yet. What have been frittering away on my mind is ……………………………
"WHEN IS SITI NURHALIZA & DATO’ K GONNA TIE THE KNOT???"
Go figure.
